The BAS in Applied Management program is designed specifically for AAS
graduates because their applied science credits are generally
non-transferable to four-year institutions. The program gives AAS
holders an opportunity to pursue a bachelor's degree without having to
start their college education from scratch, allowing full-time students
to complete a baccalaureate degree in approximately two years beyond the
AA or AAS.
Coursework includes 55 credits of major
core classes, 35 credits of general education courses, a capstone class,
and several electives involving project management, marketing, and
applied management. Courses are offered Monday through Thursday in the
evenings with common start times of 5:00 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Most Applied Management courses are offered in a hybrid format which is part
face-to-face and part online. Few classes are offered online only.
Management instructors primarily teach the
core classes, while associate faculty from CBC and the community help
customize the coursework for the many different areas of AAS degrees;
meaning students complete assignments using specific information
appropriate to their professions.
