How Do I Become a Student Officer?
We are always looking for wonderful students to run for Executive Council and/or apply for Service & Activities Board (SAB). If you want to gain leadership experience, earn money, build your resume, and have fun, this is a great opportunity for you!
There are two elected positions that make up the Executive Council: President or Vice President.
The application to RUN 4 OFFICE for the upcoming school year (2013-14) will be distributed through the ASCBC office in late winter or early spring quarter. Once the application is available, it is emailed to currently registered students through the CBC student email system. Applications can also be picked up in our office (upstairs HUB). The Election Policy and timeline (e.g. rules for candidacy and campaigning + deadlines/meetings) is part of the candidate application.
In addition to the elected positions, there are four Service & Activities Board (SAB) Officer positions that will be posted in the Student Employment office once available. These positions are selected through an application and interview process.
SAB Officers are paid by the student body to provide entertainment, social, and service based activities or events for CBC students. These events include outdoor movies, BBQs, dances, and interactive games. Applications are usually available in mid-April for the upcoming academic year. Applications can be picked up in the ASCBC office. Applications (once available) are also emailed to the student body via the CBC student email system.
