How Do I Become a Student Officer?
We are always looking for wonderful students to run for Executive Council and/or apply for Service & Activities Board (SAB). If you want to gain leadership experience, earn money, build your resume, and have fun, this is a great opportunity for you!
There are two elected positions that make up the Executive Council: President or Vice President. The election policy can be found at this link.
Anyone who applies to run for VP or President must to adhere to this election policy.
The applications for student leadership positions for the upcoming school year will be distributed through the Student Employment NeoGov Portal in late winter or early spring quarter. Once the application is available, announcements are emailed to currently registered students through the CBC student email system and via Canvas announcement. VP and President positions run for office through a campus wide student election. There are typically information sessions prior to the application deadline, so possible VP and President candidates can ask questions prior to applying.
In addition to the elected positions, there are four to five Service & Activities Board (SAB) Officer positions. SAB Officers are paid by the student body to provide entertainment, social, and service-based activities or events for CBC students. These events include outdoor movies, BBQs, dances, and interactive games. Applications are usually advertised in mid-April or early May for the upcoming academic year. These positions are selected through an application and interview process. Applications will be released through the Student Employment NeoGov Portal. Job announcements are also emailed to the student body via the CBC student email system and via Canvas announcement.
