In our increasingly multiethnic and global society it is important to learn about and understand the people and cultures of the many places around the world. The growing presence of people of Hispanic/Latino descent in the United States as well as our country’s continued economic, political, and cultural connection with Spanish speaking countries makes it imperative to learn about this region and its people.
Students who graduate with an AA in Latino & Latin American Studies will meet the requirements for the first two years of a bachelor degree at most four-year institutions, and are prepared to transfer to continue their education in the field of their choice.
