Program Overview
Radiology Technologists work directly with the patient and physician performing sophisticated diagnostic x-ray procedures including radiation safety, radiographic exposures, image and film processing, operating many types of technological equipment. The Radiology Technologist also provides professional handling and care of patients. The program requires a series of credit courses directly related to Radiologic sciences. The program also requires students have completed major support and general education courses prior to admission.
Columbia Basin College offers an eight-quarter Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology. Upon successful completion of the degree program, students are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, which is a national registry exam. The program consists of in-class instruction both via interactive television and live lectures; labs where students practice positioning and radiographic technique skills; and up to 1,800 hours of hands-on training in local healthcare facilities. Please refer to the links below to get a better understanding of the courses you will take if you are accepted to the Radiologic Technology program.
