Welcome to the Business & Information Technology division. Our division is dedicated to creating, applying and sharing knowledge that translates theory to practice; combines rigor with relevance; provides innovative solutions to business challenges and preparing the knowledge worker of the future. The faculty is committed to offering high quality educational experiences and preparing our students for life-long learning and leadership responsibilities for a dynamic, global environment. To accomplish this, our focus is on:
- academic excellence,
- technological competencies,
- and the practical application of business and computer science principles.
Much of our campus-based courses are web supported to enhance student/instructor communication and student engagement. In addition, many of our courses are also offered in a distance learning format. Internship options that provide practical/hands-on experiences are available for many of our programs. Our campus-based business, Creative Marketing Consultants, provides students with opportunities to work directly with community businesses and provides a learning community bridging the gap between academic theory and business practice.
The division offers an array of professional/technical degrees designed to provide students with entry level skills. To facilitate transfer students, we have developed specific degrees that have integrated the coursework needed for transfer to complete a four-year degree and beyond.
Our faculty are engaged in their academic fields and professional communities. Many of our faculty have worked in the private and other public sectors before teaching here. To keep current in the world of business and informational technology, a number continue to work in the private and public sectors. Several of our instructors have also published textbooks.
Whether you are a business or computer science major, need coursework to support your goals, or are just curious about our classes, we have a generous assortment of courses from which to select. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Business & Information Technology division office at 547-0511 extension 2245.
