The Counseling/Advising Center caters to those undecided about a major, program, or career path, those interested in career information and assessments, and those looking for transfer information. The Counseling/Advising Center provides resources, counseling, and assistance in several areas for students and members of the community.
Career Planning
The Counseling/Advising Center can help you with the steps to:
- deciding on a major
- finding a new career direction
- learning how your interests translate to job titles
- researching particular occupations
Career Assessment
If you are dealing with any of the following issues, career assessments may be of value to you:
- you are unsure of what school major or career path to follow
- your current occupation is not fulfilling and you wish to change
- you wish to examine your personality, interests, and preferences with an eye on majors or careers
If you want more in-depth career exploration guided by a trained career professional, consider taking CBC's College Major/Career Planning (EDUC 135). This is a three-credit class that will count toward your Associate of Arts & Sciences degree.
Transfer Information
University and college catalogs, applications, transfer packets, and electronic resources are available to aid in moving on to the next phase of your education. The Counseling/Advising Center also provides in-depth knowledge and assistance to students desiring a degree or certificate in the Professional/Technical (non-transfer) programs.
