Important Message

Starting Fall quarter 2009, the log-in information for students has changed.  You may be able to log on using your old information, but your current classes won't be there.  Also, we are making the transition to a new eLearning platform, moving from WebCT to Angel.  A few Fall quarter classes will be in Angel, but the number of courses will increase significantly in Winter and Spring quarters.

Notes:

• With WebCT, you may not be able to log on, or your classes may not be accessible until Thursday or Friday before the quarter starts. Once the initial logon is established, enrollments are processed hourly between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.
• With Angel, you will be able to log in and see your classes earlier, however the instructors may not make content available until the quarter starts.  Once inital logon is established, enrollments are processed hourly from 6:35 a.m. to 5:35 p.m.

WebCT and Angel ID & Password

• Your logon ID for both WebCT and Angel will be your nine digit student ID number
  • Instructors' logon info will not change on WebCT, but will use the new format on Angel.
  • Students may be able to log on to WebCT with their old info, but they won't see new classes.
• Your initial password will be the first five (5) characters of your last name
  • if your last name is five characters long or shorter only use your last name. You can check your name as we have it by checking your schedule on the KIOSK.
  • it must be entered all lower case.
  • leave out any non alphabetic characters, such as the dash (-) or the apostrphe (')
  • If your last name is saved with a space in it, such as ST GEORGE or VAN RAALTE or DU PIERRE, your last name would be only the part up to the first space, e.g. st or van or du for these examples.
  • You are not required to change your password, but it is recommended to do so to make your access more secure.  If you have both Angel and WebCT courses, you may wish to change your password to the same password in both for easy recollection.
  • Be sure your e-mail address is correct in either or both WebCT and Angel, because if you do change your password and forget it, you can use the forgotten password utilities in either.

    Browser Set-up

    • WebCT is compatible with current versions of Internet Explorer, and Firefox.
    • Angel is compatible with current versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer (IE) up to version 7.  Safari and Chrome do not work with Angel.
    • If you are having problems in IE 8, choose Tools/Compatiblity View.  Angel had problems with discussions and some other features in IE 8.
    • Your browser must accept cookies and allow pop-ups to work correctly with WebCT or Angel.
    • Complete the WebCT browser tune-up to ensure your browser is set up correctly for WebCT.  For Angel, there is a browser check that comes up when you access it.  If you have all green checks, you should be ok.  If some of them are red x's, you may need to install a player or change your settings.

    Class Log-in

    • WebCT
      • Go to the WebCT Welcome Page
      • Click on "Log in to myWebCT."  
      • Enter your ID and password. 
      • Find your course(s) listed on your myWebCT screen. 
      • Click the course title to enter.
    • Angel
      • Go to the Angel login page.
      • Enter your ID and Password.
      • Look at the announcements on your homepage
      • Find your courses.
      • Click on the course to enter.

    Click the on-line support link if you have problems.
