What is Tech Prep?
Tech Prep is an educational reform strategy (funded by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006) and partnership connecting the secondary and postsecondary workforce education systems. Tech Prep aims at helping high school students transition to further education or training in a technical field that leads to high skills/high wages employment opportunities.
Tech Prep Dual-Credit programTech Prep is one of several dual-credit programs in Washington state offering high school students the opportunity of earning college credit while they are in high school. Students who are currently enrolled in a high school career and technical education (CTE) class with a college credit articulation agreement must register online and maintain 85% or higher class grades to be eligible for the credit.
