The Mammography short-term program is designed to prepare Radiologic Technologists certified by the ARRT in Radiography [R.T. (R)] in the specialized emerging area of mammography. Lecture, lab, and academic coursework are offered to prepare students for the advanced level certification exam offered by the ARRT in Mammography. Lab time is scheduled with live models and modern mammography equipment to facilitate competency development in positioning for mammography exams. The course will exceed the 40 hours required by certification and accrediting bodies for employment as a Mammographer.
Students may need additional work experience to satisfy the minimum number of exams to be accomplished under supervision to qualify for the exam.
