Prepare yourself now to gain valuable experience

Job Shadowing
Job shadowing is an informal process, usually of short duration, in which students observe the daily routines and activities of employed professionals in the students' field of study. Job shadowing provides an opportunity for students to see what a job entails on a limited basis.

Students have the opportunity to visit business sites and observe an employee at work in their chosen field of study. The visitation may vary from an hour or two up to an entire day. This on-site observation helps students to gain more information about an occupation or an industry, while learning the art of networking in the local business community, and seeing how skills and knowledge acquired in class are applied in the real world.

Internships
Internships provide students with an opportunity to gain exposure to an occupational area related to their training. This experience can help students identify some of the needed skills, knowledge, and preparation desired for employees. It can also help students to understand the relevancy of their academic, technical, and classroom work.  These experiences can either be paid or unpaid, for credit or non-credit.
