How
...is your email address created and what is it?
Students are allowed to create their own email addresses by clicking on the "Create Your Student Email Account" link above.  We recommend that you use a very simple naming convention that uses first name, middle initial, and last name. If your name is Juan Sebastian Ramirez, your email address would be juan.s.ramirez@students.columbiabasin.edu

...much space do I have in my mailbox?
You have 2 GB of disk space available for your use.  Attachments are limited to 10MB in size.

...do I create my account, step by step?

  1. Go to the email account management page
  2. Enter your Student ID and PIN | Click Continue
  3. Enter your first name, middle initial (or middle name), last name, email alias, alternate email, and one-time password | Click Create Account
  4. You have successfully created your CBC student email account. 
    Allow up to 5 minutes for your account to be created on the Hotmail system.
  5. Go to http://www.hotmail.com, log in and follow the instructions to complete your account activation.  You can find a step-by-step procedure for activating your Hotmail account on our instructions page

What
...is this account for?
This email account can be used by students to send and receive important communications back and forth between fellow students, faculty, and student services staff.

When
Registered students will be able to create their account at any time during the quarter.

Who
As stated above, any person who enrolls for any class at CBC will be able to create an email account to use.

Where
Student email accounts are web-based and can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. All students have access to their accounts (as well as numerous other services) in the Technology Fee Open Lab, currently located in Rooms 140 and 143 of the W-Building (see campus map at Maps and Locations). This lab is open from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
