Mission
The principal responsibility of the Columbia Basin College Library is to provide information resources and services that advance the mission of the college. The library develops and integrates resources in a variety of formats, utilizing technologies that provide broad access to information in support of the curriculum of the college. The library provides reference and instructional services to foster students' ability to think critically about their information needs and successfully apply information tools and resources to meet them.

The main Columbia Basin College Library and Benton-Franklin County Law Library are located in the L Building on the Pasco campus. The Columbia Basin Regional Medical Library is located in the CBC Health Science Center in Richland. The libraries are open to the public. In addition to housing our books, videos, and other physical resources, our facilities offer quiet study space, group study/meeting rooms, display space, and instructional computer labs.
The student identification card also serves as a library card and is required for interlibrary loan and many of our circulation and computing services. Remote access via password to resources and services is available to CBC students, faculty, and staff. CBC Library patrons also have access to several other libraries within our region.

Library research instruction is offered in classes and in the Library Research section of WebCT.
