Curriculum
Courses in the Agriculture program include agronomy, science, business, math, communication, Intercultural Studies, general education requirements, and foreign language.
This program is great for many different kinds of students. Whether you're coming straight from high school, returning to college after an extended period, transferring from another institution, or are an experienced agriculture worker or professional seeking continuing education opportunities via the CBC Institute for Professional Development, the CBC Agriculture program can work for you!

AA Degree
A two-year Associate of Arts & Sciences degree with an emphasis in Agri-Business can be earned right here at CBC. Classes are taught by CBC faculty, adjunct faculty from the agriculture industry, and guest lecturers from the agriculture and business communities. As the agriculture industry continues to change and diversify, new course offerings will be available.

Transfer
Students who graduate with an AA in Agri-Business will meet the requirements for the first two years of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees at most four-year institutions. Courses are designed to assure transferability to WSU Tri-Cities and Pullman, meeting specific requirements for degree options in Agricultural Business and Technology Systems with an emphasis in either Agri-Food Business Management or Agri-Food Production Management.
Students planning to transfer to WSU will spend their first two years at CBC. The third year will be a "bridge" year, where classes will be taken at both CBC and WSU Tri-Cities. During the fourth year, students attend and graduate from WSU Tri-Cities. To learn more about seamless transferring between CBC and WSU, check out our BRIDGES program.

Students interested in studying agriculture at CBC should:

• Learn more about how to pay for college

High School students should make sure they are taking more than the minimum graduation requirements for math and science. Taking biology, chemistry, algebra I and II, geometry, and precalculus or statistics will help them complete the program in two years. Also, taking high school agriculture will give them a basic understanding of agriculture systems.

Professional Development
Through this program, industry professionals, high school agriculture and science teachers, and counselors and administrators can attend trainings, earn clock hours, and upgrade their existing skills. CBC offers the following through the Agriculture Professional Development program:

• Executive Associate of Arts & Sciences degree
• Short course options including Soils, Irrigation, Entomology, and Potato Production for Production Ag and related industries
• Leadership development in partnership with the Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation
• "Hispanic Farm Worker to Farm Owner Program" with Northwest Farm Credit and Farm Service Agency
• Custom agriculture education program for food processors
