Tutor Center
The Tutor Center provides CBC students free drop-in instructional support in subject areas for which there is high demand. The Tutor Center is equipped with computers and printers for student use, as well as whiteboards and group study areas. Students do not need an appointment for drop-in tutoring.
The Tutor Center also coordinates a Private Tutoring program. Private Tutoring is provided for students whose documented need for tutoring in their courses cannot be met by the drop-in services in the Tutor Center. Students who need Private Tutoring must fill out an application, available in the Tutor Center, and attach the requested documentation before a Private Tutor can be provided. Students are eligible for up to 10 hours of Private Tutoring each quarter. Exceptions to this limit are made in extraordinary circumstances and must be approved by the College. The College's ability to provide Private Tutoring in all courses is subject to tutor availability; therefore, Private Tutoring is not always immediately available in all subjects.

Science
Drop-in assistance in biology, chemistry, and physics is also available during all hours the Tutor Center is open. Check the quarterly Tutor Center schedule in the Tutor Center to see what times tutoring is available in specific science disciplines. Schedules change quarterly depending on tutor availability and student needs.
Writing Center
The Writing Center at CBC assists students in writing, including writing related to coursework, college and scholarship applications, and job applications. The tutoring staff includes English faculty members and student tutors who provide 20 minute individual conferences at no charge. Students may bring in an assignment or an in-progress draft, and tutors will offer suggestions. Hand-outs and English grammar handbooks are available to help students.

If you need tutoring in a subject not listed, please come to the Tutor Center. We will try to schedule drop-in tutoring if there is enough demand, or help you fill out an application for Private Tutoring.
