Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution between the ages of 16 and 30. To apply for this scholarship you need to write an essay on the topic listed at their website http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm. Deadline for submission of the essay is June 19, 2010.

Alfred G. and Elma M. Milotte Scholarship Trust Fund
Bank of America is Trustee for the Alfred G. and Elma M. Milotte Scholarship Trust Fund. It has been established for the purpose of awarding tuition scholarship awards to students who are interested in pursuing a course of study in natural history and the arts with particular interest in portraying the wilderness area in a manner to benefit the citizens of our country currently and in the future. The applicant should portray thorough photography, evidence in their interest in natural history, environmental studies, or animal behavior. Other forms of artistic expression, such as drawings or written work, which illustrates this evidence, will also be considered. More information can be found on the website at www.milotte.org. Altrusa International of Hermiston
The Altrusa Scholarship is an award of $500 to $1,500 to be used for post high school studies or training. Applicants should be approximately two-thirds through the program when the scholarship is awarded. Applicants must also reside in West Umatilla County or North Morrow County in Oregon.

Ambassadorial Scholarships
This is the prestigious "Rotary" organization scholarship for students who can speak another language and want to study abroad in the "host" country of that language. Award amounts are from $10,000 to $23,000 for a three-month to full-year of study abroad. You should have completed at least two years of college work. American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
This program awards up to $12,000 in financial assistance to students who have earned a master's degree or completed at least three years of full-time employment in accounting. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, and recommendations or references. The program is for applicants attending or planning to attend school full-time who have applied to or been accepted into a doctoral degree program with a concentration in accounting. Minimum GPA is 3.0. Applicants agree not to accept responsibility for teaching more than one course as a teaching assistant or to work more than one-quarter time as a research assistant. American Welding Society Scholarships
The American Welding Society is now accepting applications for their vast array of scholarship opportunities. The AWS offers more scholarships than can easily be listed. You can pick up a list of the scholarships and the applications at the Student Financial Services Office or they can be downloaded from www.aws.org. Application deadlines vary by type of scholarship.
Arts Recognition and Talent Search Awards:
These awards are granted to high school or college students (17 or 18 years old) who show talent in dance, voice, music, art, photography, jazz, visual arts, writing, or other creative areas. You must audition or submit a portfolio or tape. The award is to be used for freshman year in college. Additional information may be obtained at:

B Scholarships
Big Sun Scholarship
The Big Sun organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. An annual scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post-secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community. College Bound Scholarship
The College Bound Scholarship offers the promise of tuition and books to qualifying 7th, 8th, or 9th graders in Washington. This scholarship covers the amount of tuition (at public college rates) not covered by other state financial aid, plus $500 for books. It can be used at any public two- or four-year, and many of the private universities, colleges, or career schools in Washington. To be eligible, your family income must meet requirements. Foster youth are automatically eligible to apply. Students must submit an application, graduate from a Washington state high school, maintain a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.0, be a good citizen and stay crime free, apply for admission to an eligible college in Washington, complete a FAFSA, meet the income requirements, and be a resident of Washington. Computer Science and Computer Engineering Academic Scholarship
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Areas of study that will be considered include computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, database management, computer networking, computer programming, and information technology management. Con Agra Scholarship
Applications are now available at Student Financial Services for the Con Agra Scholarship for employees of the Pasco plant and their dependents. This scholarship is open to apply for until all funds have been awarded.
C.O.R.E. Foundation Award for Excellence Scholarship
The C.O.R.E. Foundation (Creating Opportunities to Reach Excellence) is a local non-profit organization started to create opportunities for kids to reach excellence by helping fund local education and personal growth development programs, as well as assisting those with the drive and desire for higher education, all in the Columbia Basin area. Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled at one of the following high schools: Kennewick, Southridge, Kamiakin, Hanford, Richland, Pasco, or Tri-Tech, or home-schooled in any of the aforementioned school districts, must graduate from high school in 2009, must have been accepted to Columbia Basin College for the 2009-2010 school year, identified to have financial need, have a current overall 3.0 GPA, and provide SAT/Act scores. Applications can be picked up in the Student Financial Services office. The application deadline is April 15, annually.

D Scholarships
Daughters of the American Revolution
The local Columbia River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to once again offer a scholarship in the amount of $250. The applicant must be a local student who has been accepted or is currently enrolled at CBC. The applicant must also be a member of the local chapter of DAR, a descendent of members of Columbia River DAR, or recommended by Columbia River DAR. Preference will given to those in nursing or history fields.
To apply for the Columbia River DAR scholarship, please provide a short essay as to why you choose nursing or history. You must also attach a recommendation from a CBC instructor. Degree Directory Academic Business Scholarship
This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing bachelor level degrees related to business management, information systems management, marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management, and entrepreneurship. The award is a $1,000 annual scholarship that may be reapplied for one additional year. Selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history. E Scholarships
Eastern Washington Chapter of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM)
This scholarship intends to provide a $1,000 scholarship award to an eligible student attending a college or university with the aim to pursue a career in a hazardous materials management related field (i.e. environmental science, environmental health, preventive medicine, public health, industrial hygiene, environmental chemistry, and engineering). The award may be applied to academic tuition, lab fees, and textbooks any time within the 2010 year. Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university in the Eastern Washington Chapter area (includes Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, and Idaho) OR must be a college or university student who is a current member of the EWC or whose parent, grandparent, or spouse is a current member of the EWC. Students who are pursuing an academic degree in the fields described above are encouraged to submit an application for consideration. Edna Myers Scholarship for Women Chapter FK, P.E.O.
The Edna Myers Scholarship is offered by the PEO Chapter FK in Richland for local women who demonstrate financial need and who are attending Columbia Basin College or Washington State University Tri-Cities. It provides a helping hand to women who are continuing their education, sometimes at great odds. The amount of the award is $500. For consideration applications can be picked up in the Student Financial Services office and must be returned by March 6, annually.
Education-Portal.com Scholarships
Education-Portal.com has established several new undergraduate academic awards for the 2010 academic year. These $500 awards are designed for students who are pursuing either an Associate or Bachelor degree within a given subject matter. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee and a top applicant is chosen for each award after the April 1, 2010 deadline. Undergraduate, Graduate, and Distance Learning Academic Scholarships being offered are listed below by specific degree. Undergraduate Academic Awards are offered for Computer Science and C.P.E, Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement, Liberal Arts and General Studies, and Architecture and Drafting. Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund
Scholarships are available to dependent children or spouses of persons who were killed or are permanently disabled as a direct result of the terrorist attacks in the U.S. on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. G Scholarships
GESA Credit Union Scholarship
Starting with the 2009-2010 school year, GESA will have scholarships available to students attending colleges and universities available directly through GESA Credit Union. Applications are available on their website: www.gesa.com. Deadline for applications is February 28, annually.
GET Ready for Math & Science Conditional Scholarship
Beginning with the class of 2010, low and middle-income high school students with top math and science test scores may be eligible for this scholarship. This is a four-year scholarship equal to the cost of tuition at the University of Washington. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria: score a 4 on the math or science section of the high school WASL-or above the 95th percentile on the math section of the SAT or ACT, have a family income at or below 125 percent of the state median family income at the time of application, be a Washington state resident, agree to earn a bachelor's degree in a qualified math or science program at an eligible Washington college or university, and agree to work full-time in a math or science occupation in Washington for at least three years after college graduation. You may apply if you are a high school senior graduating spring 2010, and entering a college or university in the fall 2010, and meet the eligibility requirements. The Horse Heaven Wine Growers are pleased to be able to offer a $1,500 scholarship to a student pursuing studies in Viticulture and or Enology. John Farmer Scholarship
The Washington Wine Industry Foundation is pleased to be offering six scholarships ($2,000, $1,000, and four $500) to be awarded to students pursuing studies in viticulture and/or enology and with financial need. The scholarship was established by the family and friends of John Farmer, a prominent and very much respected and loved wine grape grower.
The scholarship is available to high school graduates planning to enroll in a Washington state college, university, or in the WSU two-year Vit/Enol Certification program. The application is also available to current students already enrolled in area planning to study in viticulture and enology and/or areas pertinent to the wine industry.
