Tech Prep is an educational reform strategy and partnership connecting the secondary and postsecondary systems.  Tech Prep aims at helping high school students transition to further education or training in a technical field that leads to high skills/high wages employment opportunities.  A Tech Prep program also requires the involvement of the local business and industry partners to be successful.  There are 22 Tech Prep consortia throughout Washington state.  The Washington State Tech Prep Director's Assocation advocates for seamless pathway that enables students to transition among different levels of education and careers.  The Tech Prep program receives funding from the federal Carl Perkins grant.
